What would happen if a few people weren’t dragging the rest of us down?

Refugees and Exiles Need “A Place to Call Home”

My pal, Dima, lead singer of the Russian band Tarakany (Cockroach), and his wife have been exiled from their home in Russia since December 2021 due to their anti-war, pro-Ukraine stance.

It’s a reminder that while some suffer more than others (and none certainly more than Ukrainians), the breadth and width of suffering is immense and touches many lives. Dima and his wife have relocated to an entirely different continent where he must learn the language and culture and try to re-ignite his music career.

This beautiful song and music video encapsulates the struggle and ultimate triumph because of love. May it remind us that love is the one thing missing from psychopathic tyrants’ lives and the one thing they can’t take away.

I hope you’ll give it a look and listen. I dare you not to cry.
