What would happen if a few people weren’t dragging the rest of us down?

Linda Yaccarino Resigns X as I Cower in My Bathroom in Kyiv, Ukraine

How fitting that on the day Linda Yaccarino resigns as CEO from Twitter/X  and expresses gratitude to Elon Musk “for entrusting me with the responsibility of protecting free speech…” I am cowering in my apartment’s bathroom in Kyiv, Ukraine, at 3 AM because Ruzzia is bombing us again and terrorizing Ukrainian citizens for over three hours straight.

Not just terrorizing—two people have been killed, and over 20 injured. As the bleary-eyed Ukrainians and I struggle through a sleep-deprived day, choking on the smoke from fires caused by bombs that Ruzzia dropped—some hitting their targets because US military aid was paused—I am reminded that Linda Yaccarino’s version of “free speech” includes allowing Russian bots and trolls to spread disinformation on an industrial scale, which elected officials and other “influencers” in the U.S. often repeat. Some even go so far as to say Ukraine “attacked itself, caused the war, doesn’t want peace, etc.”

I hope Linda, unlike the people of Ukraine last night or most nights, can sleep well. If she has any conscience or morality left, or if karma really does exists, she will not sleep a wink.
