So, will the commercial broadcasters, NAB, etc., not raise their voices against this blatant, partisan, and illegal act against one of their brethren?
Suddenly, the one who remains steadfast, consistent, and still in their values is a Marxist… is “woke” and “radical.” Big Bird is woke. Better tell your kids. They’ll be shocked. While you’re at it, you can tell them that empathy, which they are born with in spades, was once celebrated but is now denigrated. Better help them get rid of it.
The problem is that humanity is even here at this point in history because of empathy. Let’s see how long we can last without it. That’s an issue for future generations to grapple with if there are any.
Tell your children that their naturally big hearts should become smaller and their little minds should remain so, because big minds are now punished. We don’t need smart people; we need loyalty, not to the country, the world, or their fellow humans, but to a narcissistic president who lacks fundamental values or morality (to his supporters, that’s his feature, not a bug).
Intellectuals are sent to the virtual gulags. How long will it be before they are physically sent there as well? Hyperbole? Do you really believe DJT has ANY restraint? Checks and balances don’t seem to be working, do they?
Knowledge is power, and it has always been so. Trump doesn’t want anyone else to have power, so, like Stalin and other dictators through the ages, he’s intent on dumbing his country down and settling a few personal scores along the way (and scoring political points in the anti-intellectual parts of the country).
As if Silicon Valley, after its dystopian ascent, reality TV, and the greedy amorality that rules commercial TV, needed any help to get us there. Without PBS, there will be even fewer people watching broadcast TV now.
Congratulations broadcasters. The two or three wanna-be oligarchs left standing can fight over the 10% of the dumbest Americans who are still willing to watch broadcast TV until they die off. Stupid people generally die early, you see—Darwin’s rule. Whoops! Sorry! He’s persona non grata now.

What about the gaping tax loophole of “religious” AM/FM Radio stations that regularly tout extreme right-wing policies, hate speech, and blatant disinformation, all without paying a dime of taxes? Or is free press that you’re targeting just the press you don’t like?
