AMERICANS IN UKRAINE
For whatever reason, during my annual visit to Ukraine in 2025 I felt I met more Americans than ever before working and living in Ukraine. Perhaps it was the election of our current ruzzian friendly president, or maybe it was pure coincidence, but my curiosity got the best of me on more than one occasion and I decided to document a little bit of just a few of the stories of Americans I encountered there.
TAHSZAY FORD
Tahszay Ford is a young model and actress who moved to Ukraine before the full invasion but loved it so much, she decided to stay. What’s it like for a Black American in Ukraine during wartime? Check Tahszay’s story in her own words:

TRAVELING COLONELS:
Colonel Monte and his organization the Traveling Colonels are made up of mostly American retired military and civilian volunteers. His path marks a more traditional experience with volunteers in Ukraine, who were moved by the full invasion to help.
The work they are doing is a bit under the radar yet incredibly effective, and life saving, and I felt more people needed to hear more about them, as they’re far to busy saving lives to toot their own horn. This is my attempt to tell their story and maybe toot it for them, just a bit.
